Sec. 822.005. ATTACK BY DOG. (a) A person commits an offense if the person is the owner of a dog and the person:
(1) with criminal negligence, as defined by Section 6.03, Penal Code, fails to secure the dog and the dog makes an unprovoked attack on another person that occurs at a location other than the owner's real property or in or on the owner's motor vehicle or boat and that causes serious bodily injury, as defined by Section 1.07, Penal Code, or death to the other person; or
(2) knows the dog is a dangerous dog by learning in a manner described by Section 822.042(g) that the person is the owner of a dangerous dog, and the dangerous dog makes an unprovoked attack on another person that occurs at a location other than a secure enclosure in which the dog is restrained in accordance with Subchapter D and that causes serious bodily injury, as defined by Section 822.001, or death to the other person.
(b) An offense under this section is a felony of the third degree unless the attack causes death, in which event the offense is a felony of the second degree.

  Laurel Davis my cousin has told me that the parents of this little boy were not together and the rumor in the community is that her colleagues have helped her keep things quiet so that the ex doesn't blame her for negligence. That is just repeating a rumor--no idea how close to the truth it is. The truth will eventually get out, someone in that community knows the dog owners.

  Laurel Davis no idea how true it is. He has never met her himself. But apparently a co-worker of hers claims that the father has recently been trying to get custody/visitation. I know we are interested in the dog attack not any personal issues--and this had nothing to do with the dog attack. but it COULD be a factor in the coverup. Assuming it is even accurate.

  Sarah Howard This dear child is dead and people are facing criminal charges. Don't you think the father already knows the truth? The only ones that are being kept out of the loop - the public. Within the last year, the same location, Canyon Lake, Betty Clark died. I think they have a problem there with dogs, not child custody.

  Laurel Davis no one is going to get custody now, the child is in God's hands. But if the ex gets hold of anything that might point to child endangerment/neglect on her part--that was a contributing factor to the death of his child while under her guardianship, then he could use it to destroy her life and career. So yes--in my mind it is at least a possibility that her colleagues could be keeping something quiet to protect her. To keep things this quiet without even getting to the media for days, shows a level of discipline and loyalty that is rarely seen in those protecting dangerous dogs. So there MAY be something more at stake than a dog's reputation. Just speculation. If there is indeed a criminal trial--it will all come out. I don't know what is going on firsthand--this is something people who claim to know her have told my relative who lives in the area. So take it with a shaker of salt. I do however, see it as a viable possibility that there was thinking along these lines as far as keeping things under wraps.

  Heidi Schold “Shortly after first responders arrived, Air Life was called. The boy was found with severe lacerations all over his body,” said Jennifer Smith, spokeswoman for the Comal County Sheriff’s Office.
  
  Smith said the child, identified as Gaege Anthony Ramirez, 7, was airlifted to University Hospital in San Antonio where he later died from his injuries.
  
  She said the incident is under investigation by sheriff’s detectives and Animal Control officers, so it remains unclear whether any charges will be filed.

Now, we all know BSL Advocates won’t leave this family alone. This father just lost his son- has no clue what’s going on and what does Mr. Baker, Board member of the pseudo victim’s advocacy DBO INFLUENCED group Daxton’s friends can’t stop himself from grilling the grieving father.

 
“Sorry for your loss buuuuttt….. Tell me what the breed of dogs they are and go ahead and send me some pictures.” I shit you not- oh, DBO members are not yet done. EVEN AFTER the father says he has no information, they don’t stop:

  Seriously, how about Lucy just shut the f@ck up. This grieving family doesn’t owe these bottom feeders any kind of explanation, but wait- wait- they still are not done.

And they call me cruel- “No one is getting custody of that child now…”  Seriously folks- they honest to God can’t help themselves. Of course good ‘ole Colleen Lynn has to make her speculations-

  
I’m sorry but all I see is a wooden platform- how is this not a normal dog owner? 

Now, I’ve heard whispers that BSL Advocates are scrambling around trying to cover their butts after their comments are being blasted over the Internet. “Deleting any comments which are likely to end up on pitter hate sites and damage our credibility.”

Good luck with that- the world sees you losing your battle and their own words are doing allllll the work for us.

Actually Lynn– I would prefer to have dogs just like those living next to me. Why?  That’s an easy answer- because history has shown that dogs taken from this environment, rehabilitated and placed into proper homes have accomplished great things.

The list goes on and on- these dogs are not just trash. They are not born these indestructible fighting machines, contrary to what dog fighting supporters and BSL Advocates, they feel pain and not just normal pain, but horrific pain. They are put in this environment that requires them to fight or die. Few survive (if you want to call it that…) but even more die.

Those that make it out and are given a  second chance break every stereotype placed on their backs. So yes, I’d rather have dogs that have lived through hell living it up in happy safe homes enjoying and learning how to be just a dog. I’d take them as neighbors before any of those BSL Advocates any day
