That romantic comedy "Must Love Dogs".. Yeah, it's probably adorable & everything, but my dark-comedy titled: "Must Not Be a Dog Fanatic" would do better at the box-office.

Just because I fancy myself a general performer who bashfully enjoys an audience doesn't mean I'm actually acting. -Just as how others who fancy themselves introverts and enjoy modesty aren't necessarily revealing.
The most pathetic, annoying, depressing, disturbing & embarrassing of incidents aren't only INEVITABLE on a sitcom--but are also, somehow portrayed as being ultimately HILARIOUS when delivered on a sitcom.
So, what I've been doing lately is--I convince myself I'm a character on a sitcom. I really do--And it's absolutely true that my outlook and reactions to such incidents have been a lot more positive since. It's because I'm perceiving it all in a comical light. -And you CAN create a comical view of almost any situation if you're manipulative & dark enough.
Life itself is already bizarre to begin with, so start from there; the human condition is a great many things, but few ever see it as funny [due to ego]--but it definitely is funny in certain aspects.
But yes, I recommend adopting this thinking mechanism which I call "sit-comming". It's an easier form of "mindful thinking", in my opinion. It works in the most stressful of situations. Rude coworker? Kid throwin' a tantrum in public? Fender bender? Going broke? Caught in a lie? Hyper-sensitive partner? Someone stole your bike? You binged on Cinnamon Toast Crunch? Hungover? Failing class? Lost a finger? Passive aggressive roommate? House a wreck? Don't have a house?
-Imagine it's all taking place in the form of a sitcom, acted out; laugh-track is in the background--and you're the leading role.
Now, it's hysterical. You can lighten up a little & forgive the circumstance some.
When sitcomming, you're dropping your ego and taking everything less seriously.
There's rewarding beauty in that.
Sitcomming=Winning
Humor=Longevity

From the chronicles of the selfish:
"Yes, I do feel bad for those who brutally died at the mouth of a family raised & loved, unprovoked Pit-Bull and/or Rottie...but not enough to stop me from vehemently advocating the legal adoption/breeding of those breeds, despite there being countless other breeds to choose from."
  • 8 people like this.
  • Christopher Leach not enough to get me from focusing on the war crimes and human rights of Israel , personally I am more offended by Netanyahu who killed over 500 children, keeps african refugees in a concentration camp and so many other things going there to protest the attacks
  • Christopher Leach so you are not alone. I can also point out boko haram killed 2000 people nearly an entire village in Nigeria and it got just a passing mention and no marches
  • Raechel Celeste Smith Chris, thanks for your input, but two wrongs don't make a right. This new-ish city I live in is keeping my kids and I prisoner to our homes since Pitters bring their Pits unleashed all over town; just recently, even into family chiropractors [not a service Pit], food places---and all throughout Summer--even on playground equipment. This screws with the future of my children. Until something is done about this to ensure public safety for my kids, I won't stop posting about it.
  • Raechel Celeste Smith I never posted about this prior to 2013, when I resided in a city thousands of miles South, because Pits weren't glorified. Guess what? No kids were getting mauled just for riding their bikes past a neighbor's dog, either. My kids won't be a statistic. Sick of this insanity.
  • Christopher Leach I know i am not belittleing your plight , just posting my focus
  • Raechel Celeste Smith Yea, I get you, and I go on a "posting rampage" when I read about child abductions and negligent parents, and I'm glad you have a focus. Many people have no focus other than their own desires.
  • Christopher Leach my niece was mauled by a pit and if i remember right my uncle shot it when police and the animal control would do nothing.
  • Christopher Leach she's had numerous plastic surgery and as she ages may need more.
  • Raechel Celeste Smith Chris, I'm glad she's alive. As a Pitter would say, "Chihuahuas bite, too."
  • Christopher Leach and tear up shoe laces , pit's, akita's, rott's, the various german shepards and chow chows are unique because of breeding they have an in bred violence that can come out. but they would deny it too
  • Raechel Celeste Smith I'm thinking of taking my video camera throughout town in the Spring, and capturing footage of all the mindful dog owners of big & small breeds who muzzle their dogs near playgrounds, and then capturing footage of all of the Pitters who not only fail to muzzle their dogs near playgrounds--but don't even leash them. That behavior is proof that Pit owners choose Pits to "make a statement" and/or to intimidate the public. Owning a pet isn't supposed to be a public nuisance. Not everyone chooses to own any sort of pet at all; keep your pet in pet-intended areas; not children's playgrounds, let alone, stores and family doctors. The common denominator of Pit-fanatics is lack of mindfulness.
  • Christopher Leach I like mastiffs , they will lick you to death never seen a violent one
  • Raechel Celeste Smith Chris, I agree about the other breeds, but Pit owners are the only ones I see DELIBERATELY not leashing their dogs in public settings JUST to intimidate the public and get a rise out of people and *prove a point*. It's real-life trolling.
  • Christopher Leach have you thought of trying to change laws, get a petition going ? getting with police to enforce laws already in existance ?
  • Raechel Celeste Smith And Pits are the only only breeds jumping over 6 ft. fences to suddenly attack a passerby.
  • Raechel Celeste Smith I have, but legislators get death threats and lose $$$$ [it's all about lobbying] when they try to pass anything, hence so many bans being lifted.
  • Raechel Celeste Smith I thank you for inquiring. I know you don't have kids, so your inquiries reflect a concern most people couldn't care less about.
  • Christopher Leach I am a socialist , my concern is with the community and the society
  • Raechel Celeste Smith That's why I'm surprised when many so-called "Humanists" advocate for dog breeds that are a threat to humanity.
  • Christopher Leach that and how many are against the feminist movement , sometimes they don't make sense.
  • Raechel Celeste Smith And the same advocates for gun-regulation and banning of large-capacity magazine guns...are, a lot of times, the same ones who refuse to regulate certain dog breeds. It's illogical to say the least.
  • John Tawaroa Still why let people adopt a dangerous fighting breed, my shelter won't, they say its putting people in danger. After a few days the shelter puts down the pit bulls.
  • Julie Wall What most rescues and shelters fail to tell people who adopt pit-bull type dogs; Pit-Bull Rescue Central, the leading authority of pit-bulls recommends all pit guardians to have a break-stick. A break-stick is to pry open a pit bull’s jaw during an att...See More

  • John Tawaroa Its not a break stick that's needed, but a colt 45.
