  • Earl Upham Their ad makes me sick! What the Hell! (I'm Lucky) Yeah he is lucky some unsuspecting do-good will adopt him so he can kill someone rather than get put down. It is just the Pit Way!
  • Heidi Schold So proud to live close to there.... wow
  • Laurie Miller Musselman I PITY the fool that goes and gets a pitty.
  • Laurie Anne Many shelters run specials on pits. At least these pits are neutered. But if someone is attracted to buy a pit because its cheap, they may not have the financial means to care for it post-adoption, or care about its welfare because at such a bargain price, it can be easily replaced. Not auspicious.
  • Earl Upham Unfortunately I believe many will be adopted for baiting other Pits in the underground Dog Fighting rings.
  • Laurie Anne Earl Upham Yes, I believe it is likely some of these bargain-priced dogs will end up as bait dogs. Cheap price. The thugs will send their girlfriends in to get the dogs; her application gets approved, and she hands it over to thug boy friend.
  • Earl Upham Whenever they do these kinds of events they should make sure they can and do a followup of how things are working out every month or so. Then keep tabs on the results and see if it was a big mistake, (which I am sure it is), putting all those Pits into the communities t hey are supposed to protect and serve. Serving up humans and other pets for Pits to maim and kill is not what they should be doing.
  • Tammy Surdam This just made me puke in my mouth . can't get rid of them fast or cheap enough !
  • Earl Upham Tammy Surdam, I am sorry that this upset you. Sometimes the anxiety gets the best of me. My loss is nothing compared to many who are members of this group. I can only hope that things turn around soon to stop this madness.
  • Tammy Surdam So true Earl Upham , have had enough of theses monsters running our lives , useless beast . I refuse to call them dogs . They are not .
  • Tammy Surdam But my kids have been taught to protect themselves when outside with the neighbors monster . Its sad we live on 13 acres and can't enjoy it without being on guard all the time .
  • Eve Sylvie This what BSL is about - keeping track of these dogs. It's like when you buy spray paint, cough syrup and other stuff that can be used maliciously or dangerously. The product is locked up and released upon your ID being checked.
  • Carol Miller We all saw the story about the St. Pitty's day special, Don the pit bull in PA. Spent an ungodly long period of time in the shelter and was put into a Pen Pals program (sponsored by the AFF). Don got two volunteers to "work with him" and write a sales pitch for him. A family took him home on Monday and he attacked the two children and the mother on Tuesday.
  • Lesley Karen Luscombe All of this kind of thing marks the slow demise of the Pit Bull as a pet. Just WHO does not know how dangerous they are now?

Social media has ensured that almost everyone knows what they are capable of, to say NOTHING of the continual acts from the dogs themselves, as they and their dreadful protectors worm their OWN way towards breed specific legislations.

  • AJ Ravinsky The pit advocates are the breed's worst enemy (though the pit advocates claim WE are). Here's why: they "rescue" them (thereby taking a dog bred for dogfighting and forcing it into an unnatural situation---a family home environment--- which will slowly...See More
  • Sonya Del Rio Cerezo Despicable ad!
  • Timmie Rheal Wow $17. dollars is what....a couple burgers, fries and Drink...ha...they're actually trying to GIVE those things away for the price of lunch.!
  • Myranya Werlemann Of course, people who must be swayed by a 'sale' and get a dog for next to nothing will turn out to be great, responsible pet owners, getting the licence, keeping their dog up to date with its rabies shots, taking out insurance, investing in a good fence so the dog can't get out of the yard by itself... Yup, that's what they'll do (in Utopia).
  • Heather Clemenceau The sad part of St. Pitty's day is that regular, socialized, family-type dogs will be overlooked in the competition for a cheap dog. The fact that they are only $17 shows that the forces of supply and demand are in evidence here. How many well-adapted dogs who don't need to be trained not to maul someone will be put down in favour of promoting the misunderstood pibbles?

  • Julia Lewis They should charge $17 for any type of dog, then you would see which ones are being taken home.
